Visits by family & friends are welcome, and trips out with visitors are unrestricted. Great attention is paid to all medication and treatment by mature and caring staff. Care staff are trained to NVQ levels 2,3,& 4 and are in turn headed by the Proprietor who is a fully qualified member of The Royal College of Nursing (Psychiatric).

Due to its green surroundings, Averlea sees a lot of wildlife, such as birds etc. There is a patio to the front of the building which is blessed with sunshine for most of the day, and there are pleasant views of trees & shrubbery at the rear of Averlea.
The popular and traditional fishing village of Mevagissey is approximately five miles away from Polgooth. It has an interesting harbour, and many unusual gift shops to explore.
The charming little village of Polgooth can be found
approximately four miles to the south west of St Austell. It is surrounded by countryside and sees very little traffic. There is a combined Post Office & well stocked Premier store, a Methodist Church and a Village Hall. If you are considering any excursions and need Public Transport, Polgooth is also on a bus route.

Averlea is a modern & friendly place, it was purpose built to a very high standard of comfort and convenience and it is registered for fourteen residents. Residents rooms are all single with the exception of one which is a double to accommodate a couple, also one of the single rooms has an en-suite w/c.
Good food is offered and special diets can be catered for. There is a TV lounge, and a quiet room where residents are encouraged to pursue their hobbies & interests. Most afternoons there are activities such as bingo, which both entertains and stimulates the mind. For those interested there is a service performed every other week by a local preacher.
